If you can’t speak English naturally and fluently, it means you’ll meet one of 7 biggest mistakes as follows. Learning to solve these mistakes also means learning to speak English naturally and fluently:

1/ Scared of making mistake:

This is the first reason that you can’t speak English well:

You’re scared that other English learners can’t understand what you say because your pronunciation is not standard -> Then, you’re not confident to speak English.

You’re scared that other English learners can’t understand what you say because your grammar is not correct -> Then, you’re not confident to speak English.

Solution:

Learn to pronounce English in standard by learning to sing an English song. If you can sing an English song perfectly, it means your pronunciation is perfect for speaking. […]

Don’t worry about your grammar. No matter how bad your grammar is, other people can understand what you say clearly and easily. This is my experience of speaking English with native English speakers and other English learners. […]

2/ Vocabulary:

Many English learners learn vocabulary and try to put single words into a correct sentence. It’s amazing how many single words they can remember but they can’t connect single words into a correct sentence. It’s because they didn’t learn phrases. When children learn a language, they learns words through phrases, it means they never learn any single words because single words are hard to remember and useless.

If you want to speak English fluently, learn vocabulary through phrases instead of single words. If you know 100 single words, you maybe not speak a correct sentence. But if you know one phrase, you can make hundred of correct sentences. If you know 100 phrases, you’ll surprised at how many correct sentences you can speak.

Finally, when you know 1000 phrases, you’ll be fluent in both English grammar and English Speaking.

Solution:

Learn phrases instead of single words […]

3/ Focus so much on Grammar:

If you focus so much time on grammar, you don’t have time for making a good conversation, then you don’t know what to talk about. In stead of spending time on making a meaningful sentence, you spend it on making a correct sentence. That’s your problem.

Many of my students are bad at grammar, they can’t even write a correct sentence but their speaking skill is perfect. That’s because they focus on making a perfect conversation instead of perfect grammar.

Solution:

If you want to speak English fluently, stop learning grammar […]

And focus on how to create content for speaking […]

4/ Don’t practice enough Listening:

One of the reasons that you can’t speak English well is because your listening is bad. If you can’t hear what other people say in English, how do you confidently reply them in English?

Solution:

Practice Listening frequently by movies, short conversations until your Listening is perfect […]

5/ Use common words in English Speaking:

This is also one of the reasons you can’t speak English fluently. In English, there are some common words which are used in speaking to make the conversation smoother, it means you’ll speak English smoother if you use these words in Speaking.

Example:

1/John: Hey, Ana! Let’s go out for hot hot.

Ana: Sorry, I’m in no mood for it now.

2/ John: Hey, Ana! Let’s go out for hot hot.

Ana: Sorry, I’m not excited ate eating hot pot now.

In this example, the first phrase “I’m in no mood for it now” is shorter and smother to talk than the second one.

Solution:

Learn these common words and practice them in speaking […]

6/ Don’t practice enough Speaking:

It also means that you don’t know how to practice English speaking. And if you never practice speaking, you’ll never speak English fluently.

Solution:

Find a friend (an English learners) to learn English Speaking with.

Then, try to speak English with him/her once a day within 3 months and you’ll speak English fluently as you wish […]

7/ Don’t know what to talk about:

This is the most important thing in English speaking. If you don’t know what to talk about, how do you communicate English with others? It’s almost impossible.

You may be good at Vocabulary, Grammar and excellent at Listening, you know where to find someone to speak English with, but if you don’t know what to talk about, they’re all useless.

Solution:

Learn a method to create content for Speaking. Then, practice English with others within 3 months and you’ll speak English naturally and fluently as you wish […]

My name is Duc, I’m a Vietnamese people. My mother language isn’t English and I almost have no chance to practice speaking English with native English speakers.

Like many people, I try to learn English so that I can get a good job with high salary after graduation.

I’ve started learning English since I was 12 years old in secondary and high schools. After 6 years of learning hard, I still couldn’t speak English naturally and fluently.

I thought my grammar and vocabulary weren’t good enough, so I kept learning more and more grammar and vocabulary, and then I took off two more years in college to learn English but still not speak English fluently. I didn’t know why, and I asked myself many times “Am I intelligent enough to learn English?” and many times I self-answered “No“.

One day, I had a chance to speak English with a foreigner and even though I couldn’t speak English well then, but I realized that I was wasting my time of learning grammar and vocabulary.

I wanted to speak English well, but I spent most of the time on learning grammar and vocabulary. It’s useless. I realized that if I wanted to speak English well I must spend time on practicing Speaking.

Then, I created a new method to learn English for myself. And surprisingly, I was able to speak English naturally and fluently within 3 months while I was still a college student.

Now, from my experience and study, I write this method down to help you speak English naturally and fluently within 2 weeks. Do you believe that? If not, try this method and you’ll have the answer.

    The method:

Find some friends and practice speaking English within 2 weeks”

    Someone will ask:

“I don’t know what to talk about when meeting someone, how to practice speaking English?”

    “My pronunciation isn’t standard”

“My listening skill and vocabulary aren’t good”

If you have these 3 problems, use the following tools:

101 common English questions” to help create content for speaking.

How to pronounce English in standard” to practice pronunciation if your pronunciation isn’t standard.

Learn 500 new words in American style within two weeks” to practice listening and learning vocabulary if your listening skill and vocabulary are bad.

How do you find a friend to practice speaking English?

    1) Learn English with your old friends on Facebook, Yahoo, Skype …

You can find your old friends on Facebook, Yahoo, Skype … and tell them to help you practice English speaking by the method in this lesson.

    2) Learn English with new friends on Facebook, Yahoo, Skype …

Log in your Facebook account (if you have one) and then type the word “English” into the option “Search” to find the community of English learners, then click “Like” to participate in this community.

Then, make friends with at least 6 people in this community by leaving a comment like:

“My name is …………………. ! My Yahoo/Skype is …………………. ! I’d like to practice speaking English with you! Add my Yahoo/Skype to speak English together! Nice to make friends with you!”

Or you can add other people’s Facebook account in your Facebook to chat English with!Don’t wait until they find and add your account, let you find them first.

Then, use the lesson “101 common English questions” to practice English Speaking with your friends within 2 weeks and you’ll speak English naturally and fluently as expected.

    The last issue:

You’ll never speak English naturally and fluently if you never practice Speaking.

You’ll never pronounce English in standard if you never practice Speaking.

Are you afraid of something? Are you afraid that you can not hear other people say very well? Are you afraid that your pronunciation isn’t good enough? Are you afraid that you don’t know what to talk about? All English learners among me have the same feelings and problems as you, but by practicing Speaking and Speaking, many English learners and I were able to speak English naturally and fluently. You can also do this within two weeks, it’s not so hard like you think.

If you meet a friend, what do you often talk with him/her about? Typically, you don’t know what to talk about. With the methods learned in Chapter Speaking, you learned how to communicate English effectively with a friend or anyone.

To help your communication more interesting, you can use the following game which I call “Guess word.” Game “Guess word” means you give some information and your friend gives answer.

      Example:

      You give a suggestion:

You: Something you use to look up for new word in English

Your friend will give an answer like:

      You: It’s dictionary

This game is just that simple, but it can help you practice English Speaking with a friend everywhere you go.

      Example:

You’re walking on a street with a friend and you see a bank. Then, you give a suggestion like:

You: Somewhere we use to keep money for safe and interest?

      You friend then can guess:

      Your friend: Bank, right?

This game is suitable for playing with a friend, because then you don’t feel shy and embarrassed, so you can practice English Speaking effectively. Then, if you are confident enough to speak English with a foreigner, go to find them and make your communication funnier and more fluently.

Two following conversations are between me and my friend John. I use the game “Guess word” to make the conversations funnier and more fluently:

John and I are free now, so we play a game:

Me:     Hey, John! Let’s play a game!

John:  Ok! What do you wanna play?

      Me:     “Guess word”, ok?

      John:  Ok, guy!

Me:     Me, first! Something we use to call for a friend? What is it?

      John:  It’s easy! Cellphone, right?

Me:     Done! Something on your body you use for eating?

John:  It’s mouth! Now, it’s my turn!

The highest mountain all over the world? What is it?

      Me:     Everest, right?

      John:  Exactly! Another question!

A kind of animal with two colors white and black? What is it?

      Me:     It’s simple! It’s Panda

Now, it’s my turn! What kind of cloth you always wear when you get outside?

John:  Oh oh! It’s underclothes, right?

Me:     Correct! What is the capital of Japan?

      John:  It’s Tokyo.

The longest river all over the world? What is it?

      Me:     Amazon, right?

      John:  Wrong, it’s Nile!

      …………………

I feel bored and then I ask John for a game:

Me:     I’m so bored! Let’s play a game, John!

John:  Ok! What do you suppose to play?

      Me:     The game “Guess word”

      John:  How is it?

Me:     I ask you a question and you give me an answer!

      John:  Ok, guy!

Me:     Me, first! Where is the chicken from?

      John:  It’s from an egg!

Hey, don’t ask me “where is the egg from?”

Me:     You got me. How do you know about that?

John:  Come on! It has no answer!

Me:     Another question “Why do we need love?”

John:  Well, I think “to share sadness and happiness”

Me:     Why do we need happiness?

John:  To make life more meaningful and funnier!

      Me:     “How about sadness?”

John:  I don’t know, Duc! There is no exact answer for it.

Now, it’s my turn. Why do we drink water?

      Me:     To live!

      John:  Why do we live?

Me:     Of course, for fun and happiness!

      John:  Got it!

What will you do if you meet a girl/boy you fall in love with on street?

Step forward her/him and ask to make friends with her/him

But what will you ask to make friends with her/him? Most of us don’t know what we should talk about when we’re in this situation, then our chance to make friends with her/him will pass.

We let this chance pass because we don’t know what to talk about. It’s the same in English, if you don’t know what to talk about when you meet someone, then you’ll never speak English naturally and fluently though how long you spend on learning English. It means you must learn how to create content for speaking.

How to create content for speaking? It’s simple, you can learn it by the Rule Q-A

Learn this rule from the structure:

          Duc: Hello! How are you?

Mary: I’m fine! Thank you, and you?

These are two opening sentences for communication and they’re also 2 most important sentences for learning communication. Because these 2 sentences contain a great rule to help you practice and get proficiency in communication anywhere and anytime. It’s called “Rule Question – Answer”.

Rule Question – Answer (Rule Q-A):

In fact, communication is a process of questions and answers between two or more people together. A person asks and another answers, and versa.

No matter what you talk about, it’s also a series of questions and answers. No matter which situation you’re in, you also talk by asking questions or giving answers.

If you don’t know what to talk when you face with a native English speaker, this is the best rule for the best start because this rule will show you a method to create interesting content for your communication.

          Why is the Rule Q-A?

When you communicate with someone in English, your native language or any other languages, the main purpose of the communication is to gather or share information and there’s no way to do that better than using the “Rule Q-A”.

Example: I want to practice speaking English with foreigners. I decide to go to a park, then I see a foreigner sitting for sightseeing. I nervously step forward him and our conversation occurs as follows:

Me             :       Hello! How are you?

          Foreigner:    I’m fine! Thank you!

Me            :       Can I seat here?

          Foreigner:    Of course!

Me            :        Are you a tourist?

          Foreigner:    Yes, I’m.

Me            :       Oh! Where are you from?

Foreigner:    I’m from the United States.

Me            :        It’s very far! Do you like Vietnam?

Foreigner:    Ah! Yes. It’s a beautiful country.

Me            :       Thanks! Where did you visit in Vietnam?

          …………………………..

In this situation, I communicate English with a foreign tourist by asking questions and giving answers each others.

For purpose of communication, we’ll have 4 types of speaking:

You’ve already prepared content for speaking

You haven’t prepared content for speaking yet

You’re encouraging someone to talk about something

You’re attracting someone into your story

No matter what you talk about, you’re also in one of these types of speaking. And if you want to speak English naturally and fluently, you must learn to speak English effectively in these situations.

In English, there are 2 basic types of questions:

          What : What’s your name?

Which: Which one do you like, red or green apple?

          Who    : Who are you?

W-H question        Where: Where are you from?

When : When is your birthday?

Why    : Why do you learn English?

          How    : How are you?

          ……………

Yes – No question:           Are you a student?

If you know how to ask suitable questions or give suitable answers to suitable situations, it means you master English speaking completely.

          4/

          5/

          My questions:

Exercise 1: Meeting an old friend as a student in the internet, I’ll ask:

1/ Long time no see! How are you?

          2/ How is your studying?

          3/ Do you learn English?

4/ Your English is good or not?

5/ Have you got girlfriend yet?

6/ Where do you live now?

7/ Your life is good or not?

8/ What do you do in free time?

9/ Do you have part time job?

10/ How much do you spend for a month?

Exercise 2: Meeting a foreign tourist for sightseeing in a park, I’ll ask:

          1/ Hi! How are you?

          2/ Are you a tourist?

          3/ Where are you from?

4/ Where did you visit in Vietnam?

5/ Where will you visit next in Vietnam?

6/ Do you go alone or go with someone?

7/ Do you have any friend in Vietnam?

8/ How do you think about Vietnam?

9/ How do you think about people in Vietnam?

10/ How many days have you been in Vietnam?

          Summary:

Do you feel it difficult to ask a question for communication? Don’t underestimate yourself if you can’t ask a question easily, it’s because you never learn how to create content for communication, it means you don’t know what to talk about.

If you don’t know what to talk about, you can hardly talk something with someone even in your native language. But if you know how to create content for communication and combine it with Rule Q-A, you’ll be easy to master English or any language within 3 months.

            • From the experience of learning English myself and teaching others, I know it’s wrong. If you are aged between 16 and 35, you’ll learn English most easily and effectively.

Your current issue in this situation is that you really don’t know any method to practice English effectively and that’s the reason you think you can’t learn English well.

In addition, you see that children and young persons can speak English very well but you don’t. The reason these kids can speak English well is because they don’t feel shy to speak English (because at their age they don’t understand what shy is) and therefore they speak so frequently and this frequency helps them speak English very well.

How about you? You feel very shy and embarrassed so you never open your mouth to communicate, that’s why you’re not good at speaking skill.

You think you can’t learn new vocabulary, but the kids learn it very fast. This is somewhat right and somewhat wrong.

It’s right that you can’t learn vocabulary word by word because it’s very boring and not practical, but the kids don’t feel boring (because they don’t have strong feeling of boredom as you) so they can learn new vocabulary very easily.

It’s wrong that you can’t learn multiple vocabulary. In fact, from my experience I know that you can learn multiple vocabulary of the same topic easily while the kids are hard to do that because they aren’t good at connecting words and their meaning in a topic easily like you.

Speaking skill is only learned through real communication face to face each other frequently so that you can feel relax when speaking English.

If you sign up for a class, it means that a teacher will manage 20 students, you only have 1/20 chance to communicate English with your teacher. It also means that you’re  20 times slower than if you have chance to communicate English face to face full time with others.

If you sign up for a class and I assume that you don’t speak well with others because you’re afraid to open your mouth (because of embarrassment and not knowing what to talk about), other classmates will have more chance to talk and talk, so you almost have no chance to communicate. Then you’re not only 20 times slower than but also double that number up to 40 times slower than if you have chance to communicate English face to face full time with others.

What’s the solution? How to speed up and have the opportunity to communicate English full time with others?

Don’t go to class to learn English communication, instead find a friend to learn Speaking skill:

A friend will help you avoid embarrassment when you open your mouth to communicate English. In the first period of learning a new language, I’m sure that everyone is embarrassed to open their mouths to speak English with others and if you never open your mouth to speak, you’ll never communicate English naturally and fluently.

If you have a friend who attends English with you, this problem will be solved, you won’t feel embarrassed anymore and will easily open your mouth to communicate English better. After you are confident enough to communicate with your friend, it will be easier and more simple for you to communicate English with native English speakers.

A friend with face to face communication will help you increase the actual amount of time of English communication in real up to 20 times compared to signing up for a class. On the other hand, it’s not limited by time as in the class so you’ll feel more comfortable and concentrative, therefore you can easily open your mouth to communicate English better.

If you must choose between a process of learning to speak English naturally and fluently within 3 months and a process of taking more than three years but still not master English, what will you choose? In the first period of learning English, I chose 3-year process because I had no right direction and I lost almost two wasted years and still not master English until I found the effective process of learning to speak English intensively. With new process, I did master English less than three months while I was still a student.

Someone still wonders “If learning with a friend, I never have a chance to listen to foreigners who speak English in standard and I never have a chance to communicate English with native English speakers”.

Completely right! You’ll never understand what native English speakers talk about if you don’t often hear them talk. But is signing up for a class the best way? In Chapter Listening, I’ll show you how to practice listening in practical situations by the most standard accent with native English speakers. I’ll show you how to spend less than 10 US dollars to have a chance to practice listening English with unlimited time effectively or you want to waste thousands of dollars to go to a class just for listening to native English teachers? It’s all your decision.

You‘re never fluent in English if you never speak English with foreigners. Completely right, but it’s just your own thought without considering the whole process and the advantages if you choose to learn English with a friend:

You learn with a friend and no one laughs you, therefore your improvement will be faster. You’ll speak English freely, confidently and feel relax to correct your mistakes with a friend. You only achieve proficiency in English Speaking through real communication, not through any other ways. Learning with a friend will give you maximum time to practice and practice speaking and you’ll shorten your learning schedule more than 20 times compared to the class.

You learn English with a friend and your friend can’t speak English in standard. This is an advantage rather than a disadvantage because it’s a good opportunity for you to listen to non-standard English. Let imagine if you can understand a non-standard English speaker clearly, can you understand a native English speaker? Of course you can and maybe you don’t believe in your ability then.

You shouldn’t worry that you don’t have standard listening environment to practice because I’ll help you handle this problem and help you practice listening to native English speakers in Chapter Listening. Your current problem is whether you have chance to practice English communication? Learning English with a friend will be the best start.

Finally, you must also communicate English with foreigners and due to what you’ve learned with a friend, you’ve learned so much vocabulary, pronunciation and talked so much and you’re no longer embarrassed to communicate with foreigners in fact.

In Chapter Speaking, you’re guided how to create communication contents and how to find a foreigner to communicate English with no cost. Be patient and you’ll communicate English naturally and fluently within 3 months.

Where can I find a friend to learn English with?

The best way is to find someone you know such as classmates, colleagues or friends in the internet through yahoo or facebook … they often have free time to practice English with you and they also want to improve their Listening, Speaking skills.

You can also join the English clubs that are held free of charge at the language centers at weekend or online to find a friend to learn English with.

Everyweek, you should date your friend at least one day for studying English. I propose you date on Saturday afternoon, if you’re busy on Saturday, turn it to Sunday.

You can date your friend at home, park, cafeteria, going to eat hot pot… In the first stage, it should be at home to avoid embarrassment and shy when you speak English.

You shouldn’t be upset if your friend prepares nothing for studying English. Instead, let you present your part and impress your friend by your improvement to attract him/her in studying English.

If you can’t find a friend, be patient because you still communicate English naturally and fluently within 3 months through the methods and exercises in this book especially through Chapter Listening and Speaking. You’ll cope some diffculties without a friend, but you can still get proficiency through this book.
