        Exercise 5: Your dream job

Use Mind Map to create a writing about the topic “Your dream job

        The sample writing:

I use Mind Map to outline everything in mind for writing:

Then, I use this Mind Map to make a writing like below:

My name is Duc and I’m 24 years old. I graduated with BBA at Marketing University. Now, I work as a sales person in a small company and my job is good!

In my plan, I want to take a position as a director in a big company. I want this job because I want to learn experience for my own business in the future.

I’ve liked doing my own business to earn money since I was a student at University. Having money, I can make my dreams come true. I want to enjoy my life, I want to help my parents with a better life and I also want to travel around the world.

To prepare for this plan, I’m trying hard and hard to learn necessary things day by day. At night, I often surf internet for learning English and sometimes I spend 3 months on short courses in academic classes to improve my skills.

I know that I’ll have a lot of difficulties on my way to reach my dreams but I never quit until the day I make my dreams come true.

I believe that life is fair, if I try hard, I’ll get my worthy reward.

          Exercise 4: Money or Knowledge

Use Mind Map to create a writing about the topic “Introduce yourself

          The sample writing:

I use Mind Map to outline everything in mind for writing:

Then, I use this Mind Map to make a writing like below:

In our modern society, money plays an important part to show the success of one person. If you can earn a lot of money, it means you’re a successful person.

If you have money, you can buy many things:

You can buy a luxury house with many rooms and your family will have a comfortable place for living.

You can help your children learn at the best school so that they can receive the best education of the world.

You can travel to anywhere you like and you can do many interesting things you want. It’s wonderful if we have a lot of money.

However, money is not everything. There are many things that money can’t buy:

Money can buy you a house but not a home. You can have a lot of money and you can buy a big house but you can’t still buy a happy family. If you want a happy family, you must build it with your own time and love.

Money can buy you education but not knowledge. You can learn at the best school with the best education but if you don’t try hard for it, don’t spend time on exercise, you’re worse than a person with good knowledge from a normal education at a normal school.

My friend once asked me “What do you choose between money and knowledge, Duc?”. Then, I replied him without any hesitation “I choose knowledge”.

Then, my friend asked me “Do you want to earn a lot of money?” Of course, I want, I really really want to earn a lot of money because I want to enjoy a comfortable life but there are so many ways to earn money, it’s not true that you only earn money from money.

I wasn’t lucky because I wasn’t born in a rich family but I never complain about that! To me, knowledge and effort are much more important than money. If I try hard to learn knowledge, someday I’ll become a successful person.

Now, I’m still a poor person but I’m on my way to become a rich person. I still work as a sales person in a small company now but I believe that if I try hard, I can become a director in a big company someday, then I can earn a lot of money.

I can do my own business to earn money if I have knowledge. Of course I don’t have so much money, so I’ll start small business first. You can start your business with a lot of money easily, but without knowledge, your business will be in failure  soon.

Lastly, money can be spent out easily but knowledge lasts forever. You can earn money, a lot of money with knowledge but you can earn money from money without knowledge. If you don’t believe, use your own money to earn money in a casino.

          The End
